Shantideva Homeopathic Research Initiative (SHRI) opened a charitable clinic in Bir, Himachal Pradesh in September of 2010. Since then, SHRI Free Clinic has treated over 6000 new patients and has become a valuable asset to our Tibetan refugee & rural Indian communities.
In December of 2014, SHRI Free Clinic moved to the small village of Gunhare. Our new location is only about five kilometers away from our previous location, and has the added benefit of being on an active bus line. Operating under the auspices of Nishtha Rural Health, Education and Environment Centre, our staff now includes a young homeopathic doctor from northern India. His presence in the clinic allows us to serve our community six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
Spero Latchis Dhom. and Rajat Bhatia Dhom. provide homeopathic medical treatment. Robin Jameson provides diet, behavior and exercise recommendations, acupressure and massage, to SHRI’s regular patients. We educate our patients about the dangers of careless, excessive & inaccurate allopathic medical treatment (which is a pervasive problem in our area) and advise about healthy lifestyle choices. We accept no patient fees, but gratefully accept donations for medicine and office overhead. By bringing Indians & Tibetans together, as patients, doctors, interns, translators, office managers & volunteers, we build bridges between these two, sometimes divided, communities.
